Smoking is a hot topic at almost every condo building. Should it be allowed? If so, where? The controversy and more importantly, enforcement, is a hot topic.

Recently, there have been some grumblings with regards to the smoking policy at the Plaza. Signs around the building indicate a "Smoke Free Environment." Newer owners are complaining about smoking, especially on balconies, based on these signs.

Steve Kenny clarified that while he placed these signs out, the actual official HOA By Laws in place permit smoking within owner's units and on their balconies. Common areas such as in front of the elevators, on the pool deck, walk ways, and within the lobby are considered "Smoke Free Zones."
With smoking such a hot topic, it's been proposed to have the HOA By Laws changed this year, transitioning us into a nonsmoking campus.
With so much buzz about the smoking issue, of course owners are encouraged to share their thoughts and concerns within the Plaza OC MD Owners forum. Click the image below to view the discussion, and register if you'd like to add to the topic. Of course this will apply to all smoking.
